Memorial Walkway

The Memorial Walkway was dedicated on August 3rd, 2013 following the installation of the first four monuments honoring various veterans’ organizations. The Walkway is located in a grove of trees just off the Avenue of Flags and east of the columbarium wall.

The monuments were placed by San Diego chapters of the Special Forces Association, Jewish War Veterans, Navy Nurse Corps Association, and the Chosin Few. Since then, other monuments – Blue Star Memorial, U.S. Navy Seabees, United States Paratroopers, and Vietnam War Veterans have been dedicated. The Gold Star Family Memorial Monument is the most recent monument to be placed on Memorial Walk with a ceremony taking place in November 2023. More installations are planned. No U.S. government funds were used for these projects.
